Irene Diaz

Singer/Songwriter Irene Diaz is currently based in Los Angeles, California but is working to expand her influence across the United States.  She works closely with her partner, Carolyn, to create and perform her music and is active on social networking sites and YouTube to present her work and music videos to the public.

Irene came from a fairly musical home, as her father played guitar and had a passion for rock music.  She started learning music through piano lessons early in life.  The piano remains her favorite instrument and is the medium through which she composes most of her songs.  Later in life, she picked up the guitar as well.  Irene uses music as a way to express herself and to better understand both her life and the world around her.  Carolyn, and the love they share, is the primary source of inspiration for her music.  She enjoys the process of writing more than performing, due to the inherently personal nature and inflective state of mind writing creates. 

Irene is an independent artist who does not conform to traditional categorization.  She maintains her individuality by remaining free from the pressuring influence of labels, producers, or managers.  She creates music across multiple genres and refuses to be put into stereotypical boxes based on her style or identity.  She strives to create universal music that is able to inspire people all over the world.  She prides herself on avoiding the use of exclusive gender pronouns and focuses on universal struggles and experiences. 

Success, for Irene, is defined by her ability to inspire others.  She particularly wants to inspire young women to pursue their passions and fulfill their dreams.  She hopes she can support herself through her music and is striving to "make it" in the music industry as an independent artist.  She refuses to give up music and expressing herself through song writing.
